SIL Service

This page documents the externally available SIL API from proto/sil.proto.

Scope:

  • Standalone SIL service (sil.SIL)

What SIL Is For

SIL (Software-In-the-Loop) is a lock emulator used for integration and testing workflows. It lets you provision an emulated device, generate audits, and inspect assigned credentials.

API Surface (sil.SIL)

Current RPCs:

  • Provision(ProvisionRequest)
  • GenerateAudit(GenerateAuditRequest)
  • ListAssigned(ListAssignedRequest)
  • SetTime(SetTimeRequest)
  • GenerateLowBatteryAudit(GenerateLowBatteryAuditRequest)

See proto/sil.proto for full request/response message definitions.

Connection

SIL is available on your org server as the sil.SIL, connection should be virtually identical to connecting to the org.Org service.

Typical Flow

  1. Provision the emulated device.
  2. GenerateAudit (optionally with credential type/data).
  3. Use ListAssigned to inspect emulator-tracked assignments.
  4. Use SetTime if deterministic time behavior is needed.
